DEEPFAKE DETECTION CHECKLIST
NOT EVERYTHING IS REAL!
10 RED FLAGS TO SPOT AI-GENERATED CONTENT
1. CHECK FOR UNNATURAL LIP-SYNC
2. WATCH FOR IRREGULAR BLINKING OR EXPRESSIONS
AI faces may blink too much, too little, or show stiff and unnatural expressions.
3. LISTEN FOR ROBOTIC OR INCONSISTENT VOICE PATTERNS
Check for flat tone, strange pauses, or unnatural emphasis in speech.
4. VERIFY UNEXPECTED VIDEO CALLS THROUGH ANOTHER CHANNEL
If you didn't expect the call, confirm the identity through another trusted channel.
5. DON'T TRUST URGENT REQUESTS INVOLVING MONEY
Deepfake scams often create a false sense of urgency to pressure you into acting fast.
6. CHECK FOR UNUSUAL LIGHTING OR SHADOWS
Inconsistent lighting, odd shadows, or color tones can be signs of manipulated content.
7. LOOK FOR BLURRED EDGES AROUND THE FACE
AI-generated faces may have blurred, waxy, or unnatural edges around the hair or face.
8. VERIFY THE SENDER'S IDENTITY BEFORE TAKING ACTION
Always double-check the person's identity, especially for unusual requests.
9. USE REVERSE IMAGE/VIDEO SEARCH WHEN POSSIBLE
Upload screenshots or key frames to see if the content exists elsewhere.
10. PAUSE, VERIFY, THEN ACT
When in doubt, slow down. A few extra seconds can save you from a big scam.
